•3,173 Bus tickets collected
•11 States outside Maryland and the District of Columbia represented: (PA, NY, NJ, TX, WV, CA, DE, OH, VA, FL, KY)
•Poster/T-shirt Design contest was won by a senior, Madison Rolf, from Cambridge South Dorchester High School (Dorchester County)
•15,000 informational brochures were printed and distributed in Ocean City and Worcester County
•60,000 informational brochures were printed and distributed across the State of Maryland and beyond
•42 FREE planned events, including karaoke, indoor miniature golf, paddle boarding, kayaking, midnight bowling, basketball, outdoor miniature golf, volleyball, Splash Mountain Water Sports Park, tennis, laser tag, dance party, pizza eating contests, dodgeball and 2 tye dye T-shirt design events. Only 1 event was canceled.
•300+ businesses, organizations and individuals contributed money and prizes
•242 Volunteers gave 750+ hours of service for the implementation of Play It Safe 2017. This does not include the countless hours contributed by members of the Ocean City Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Committee, Inc., as well as, time contributed by all of the agencies, i.e., Worcester County Health Department, Ocean City Public Works, Ocean City Transportation, Ocean City Police Department, etc., necessary for the successful implementation of the events.
